Sora

Sora was OpenAI's generative AI video platform capable of producing realistic videos from natural language prompts, images, and video inputs. It supported text-to-video, image-to-video, remixing, storyboards, video extension, and cinematic scene generation with high realism. It was widely used by filmmakers, designers, advertisers, educators, and content creators. Sora was initially available in selected countries and later expanded to more regions, but was never launched worldwide. As of April 26, 2026, the Sora web application has been officially discontinued globally, and no new users can access it. OpenAI has shifted its focus away from the standalone Sora product.
